Skills development in sustainable development.
Competence development meets the curriculum's changes regarding sustainable development and interdisciplinary perspectives. The content is based on the global goals and the visualization lab Vislab, which uses advanced visualization technology to explain the world.
The competence development includes three occasions of progression. Each session is 3 hours and is held at Universeum.
After booking, participating teachers get a place in a learning group. Each learning group includes 20 participants from different schools, who carry out the entire competence development together.

At Universeum, every day is an adventure. In our big house, you explore the world – how it is connected and what important role you play now and for the future.
AFTER-SCHOOL CENTRES.
Science club.
Science Club is an established method developed by Universeum where children and young people can investigate, experiment and discover how fascinating science and technology can be. Through hands-on activities and engaging meetings, we strengthen the participants' scientific capital and arouse curiosity for scientific phenomena. The program emphasizes curiosity, self-confidence and the joy of discovery, and the activities are clearly linked to the after-school center's mission, which strengthens the students' self-confidence in science and technology.
Science Club after-school are a ten-week programme that strengthens the after-school centres' work with science and technology through continuing education for leisure-time staff, regular visits by Universeum's educators, guidance and support for their own activities, and free visits to Universeum during the academic year.
Here you can read more about what the program entails.
If you are interested in your school participating, send an email to [email protected] – and we will help you further! (This autumn's places are filled, but it is possible to send an expression of interest to future initiatives.)

Sustainable Global Goals in schools, including skills development.
The Sustainable Global Goals in School is a development program that is based on the global goals and sustainable development. The programme creates commitment and action competence for sustainability issues by highlighting global challenges and making students' voices heard. With knowledge and innovation, students can contribute to a sustainable world. The programme includes further training for participating teachers, teacher guidance linked to the curriculum, two teacher-led student visits to Universeum, where the students get to work practically and experience-based, their own work in school together with the teacher where the students immerse themselves in sustainability issues, and an ambassador day, where the classes share how they have spread their knowledge further.
Here you will find more information about programme.

SCREENINGS in Wisdome.
During the academic year 25/26, a class visit to Wisdome Gothenburg, Sweden's largest visualization dome, is included. All classes in year 7 are offered to watch the show Making Magic and all classes in year 8 are offered the show BIG.
Teacher
Free professional development for teachers.
Our collaboration also includes free continuing education. Principals are responsible for booking and selecting content based on the school's needs. This is an opportunity to support and strengthen your pedagogical work and get new inspiration. Our continuing education is linked to current research, curriculum and alternates theory with practice.
Here's how it works:
- The principal decides on what programme and date based on the staff's needs. We cannot promise that we can accommodate all requests for dates as there is a limited number of places. The principal then emails the expression of interest to [email protected].
- The continuing education is carried out at Universeum in addition to "A hum about AI" which can be carried out at your unit. The training is 3 hours including coffee, and can be carried out in the mornings or afternoons. Minimum 10 and maximum 30 participants per session.
- Several schools can join forces and have continuing education at the same time. This creates additional opportunities for knowledge exchange between schools.
- During the autumn, there will also be further training aimed at staff in adapted compulsory schools and for staff in after-school centres. Look out for this!
- A litte something about AI – F–6, 7–9
-
Gain a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and discover how AI can become a valuable tool in schools! During the in-service training, we go through what AI is, introduce basic prompting, and show how generative AI can be used in the role of a teacher. Through practical exercises and inspiring examples, you will get ideas and methods that can be directly applied in planning and teaching. The in-service training is interdisciplinary and aimed at teachers in all subjects. Together we explore the future of learning – today!
- Sustainable development – F–6, 7–9
-
Explore learning for sustainable development with the global goals as a framework. This training gives you the opportunity to create a common ground for working further with sustainability issues in a structured and inspiring way. We highlight how the global goals can be integrated into teaching and become a natural part of the school's everyday life. The in-service training is interdisciplinary and aimed at teachers in all subjects.
- Natural Sciences – F–6
-
Strengthen science teaching with simple experiments and practical tools. How do we maintain the interest of the students? How can we work with systematic investigations in science from preschool class? During the continuing education, we alternate theory with practical exercises that you can easily take with you into the classroom.
- Technology – F–6
-
Inspire students to analyze, create, and understand technology. During this continuing education, we work practically with concrete methods to develop the students' abilities to identify and solve technical problems. We discuss what the subject of technology can include and how it can be linked to the students' everyday lives and the world around them. Through practical exercises and inspiring examples, you will get tools to make technology teaching both engaging and relevant to the students.
