The sea is vast and beautiful. But also fragile. In our aquariums, you explore the many environments and species that live in the water, from shallow eelgrass meadows to deep oceans. At the same time, you learn to take care of the sea.

The North Sea aquarium has been in use for more than 25 years and now it's time to completely renovate. Therefore, it is empty right now and all the animals have had to move to other aquariums. All other aquariums – including the large Ocean tank with sharks and fish – are open as usual.

WE LIVE IN THE AQUARIUM HALL.

Universeum's Aquarium Hall is an educational place teeming with life. Here are some of the animals that live under the surface.

Common Clown Fish

Lives in anemones and helps them with cleaning and defense.

Atlantic Nurse Shark

Vulnerable species. Often found still at the bottom and absorbs prey from cavities in reefs.

Snake Pipefish

Is closely related to seahorses. The male carries and gives birth to the young.

Epaulette Shark

Often still at the bottom but can walk on land. Has a large spot on its body.

Cuckoo Wrasse

Many of the species called wrasses are born female and then change to male.

The ocean is our largest aquarium.

1.4 million liters. That's how much water Universeum's largest aquarium, the Ocean, contains. When you enter the tunnel that runs through the aquarium, you can see the fish from below and get a sense of what it would be like to be in their midst. Several sharks and rays live here. Plus a variety of other small swimmers.
