Plan your visit

We’d like you to get the most out of your visit to Universeum. Here is some useful information for you to look at before and during your visit.

Getting here

Getting to Universeum is easy. We’re located in the centre of Gothenburg, right next door to Liseberg. You’ll find maps and information under Getting here.
Information

The information desk is located outside the gates on the 1st floor. We are happy to answer questions about your visit, tickets and annual pass!
Tickets and annual passes

Pre-purchase tickets to secure your spot. Buy your tickets and book an arrival time in our ticket shop. At Universeum, go straight to the gates and scan your digital ticket to get in.

You who have an annual card do not need to book an arrival time. The annual card is scanned directly at the gates. Please note that annual passes purchased or renewed cannot be guaranteed entrance the same day.
Lockers

There are free storage lockers with code locks on level 1 and 0. Universeum cannot store luggage that doesn’t fit in the lockers. The number of lockers is limited – free lockers cannot be guaranteed.
Find your way

Our house is large with exhibitions spread over several floors. Follow the signs to stick to the specific route and not miss anything. See our map here.

The monkeys can often not be seen after 4 p.m. They get tired early and retire to their nest.
Pushchair

Universeum is best explored without a pushchair. Pushchairs are not allowed in the Rainforest and the Chemistry lab.

A pushchair parking can be found on level 1. Pushchair locks and Babybjörn baby carriers can be borrowed at the information desk.
Restaurant and café

Charge the batteries in our new restaurant on level 2 or in the new café on level 1. CO2 equivalents are displayed for all dishes, so that you can make good and sustainable choices for both you and the world.

Picnic

Feel free to bring your own food or snack to Universeum. We have several seats in the house to choose from.

Miniverseum on level 0 is for children 0-6 years and their adults. There you find a microwave to heat baby food.
Dogs not allowed

Dogs are not allowed at Universeum. Exceptions are working guide and assistant dogs. See more information under Accessibility.
Cash-free venue

Universeum is a cash-free venue. We only accept credit and debit cards. You can easily pre-purchase your ticket before your visit at our ticket shop. Here you can easily pay via Klarna, that accept all types of credit and debit cards.

Accessibility

Most parts of the Universeum are accessible by wheelchair or other aid. Follow the regular route through the house, but adapt the road through the Rainforest if you use a wheelchair or other aid to get there. In some exhibitions there are some narrow passages.

Companion

Companions have free admission in the company of visitors in need of accompaniment. Read more about tickets for companions on the page Tickets and prices.
Guide and assistant dogs

Guide and assistant dogs are welcome at Universeum. If you want to walk through the Rainforest, you must pre-register your visit. Contact information can be found on the Contact us page.
Wheelchair for lending

Universeum has a wheelchair for lending to our visitors. Ask for it at the information desk on level 1 if you wish to borrow.
Toilets

Accessible toilets can be found on levels 0, 1, 3, 4 and 5. On level 5 there is also a toilet with a roof lift.
