Made up of billions of cells and controlled by a system of chemical signals. The body is a complex and utterly fantastic mechanism. Join us on a journey of discovery inside your body. During weeks 5–6, Humans is temporarily closed due to renovations.
In Humans, you can find out who a scientist is, and what a scientist actually does.
An inner body experience
Research has provided us with a wealth of knowledge about how our bodies work and react to different stimuli. There is also a lot we don’t yet know. Our Humans experience enables you to explore the human body through physical challenges and mental puzzles.
Begin your adventure in the nose before journeying down to the lungs. What are we actually inhaling when we take a breath? What does an asthma attack feel like? Listen, feel and see how the body’s airways work.
The immune system
Our immune system is the body’s primary defence mechanism. It can be both innate and acquired over a lifetime. What happens when we become infected by foreign organisms like bacteria and viruses? And why does the immune system overreact, triggering troublesome inflammatory responses, such as asthma and allergy? Journey through the body by means of the lymphatic system or play an action game to learn how to protect your body.
Skeleton and muscles
The skeleton and muscles support our body and enable us to go where we want. Take a look inside the smallest building blocks in our muscles, mitochondria, and find out how something small has a huge impact.
