Universeum’s website is protected by copyright legislation

The Swedish Copyright Act (SFS 1960:729) grants persons who create a work the right to determine how this work will be used. The Copyright Act also applies to the internet and therefore Universeum’s website and associate file material as well.

Copying for personal use

You have the right to make a copy for your own private use. This means that you may make individual copies of pages for your own personal use (this does not apply to computer programs).

The following is forbidden

You may not copy texts protected by Universeum’s copyright and display these on your own website. What is made available via the internet cannot be seen as intended for private use. Such use violates copyright law.

Copying for educational purposes

Teachers have the right to copy pages for educational purposes. Regulations governing this are contained in special agreements. Archives and libraries have the right to copy individual articles from the website on behalf of a customer.

Images

You must seek permission from Universeum AB to use images from Universeum’s website. If this applies to a portrait image, you must also seek permission from the person who is portrayed in the image. Special regulations apply to images in Universeum’s image archive.

Links

You may link to www.universeum.se without needing to seek permission if it is clear that you are being linked to another web page by clicking on the link. However, you should not link between frames, deep linking, since it is not quite as clear that it is not your own page that you have linked to.

Right to cite

It is permitted to cite “in accordance with good practice and to the extent that is justified for the purpose”. Good practice means, for example, reproducing somebody else’s text, usually only a few sentences, in a debate article.

Kopiering för enskilt bruk

Du har rätt till kopiering för enskilt bruk, dvs. rätt att framställa enstaka exemplar av sidor för privat bruk (gäller dock inte datorprogram).

Detta är förbjudet

Du får inte kopiera Universeums upphovsrättsligt skyddade texter och lägga ut dessa på din egen hemsida. Det som görs tillgängligt via Internet kan inte anses som avsedda för enskilt bruk. Det innebär intrång i upphovsrätten.

Kopiering för undervisning

Lärare har rätt att kopiera sidor för sin undervisning. Regler för detta finns i särskilda avtal. Arkiv och bibliotek har rätt att för kunders räkning kopiera enstaka artiklar ur hemsidan.

Bilder

För att använda en bild från Universeums hemsida måste du ha tillstånd från Universeum AB. Om det är en porträttbild måste du också ha tillstånd från den som porträtteras på bilden. Särskilda regler gäller för bilder i Universeums bildarkiv.

Länkning

Du får länka till www.universeum.se utan att be om lov, om det är tydligt att du genom att klicka på länken förflyttas till en annan webbsida. Däremot bör du inte länka inom ramar, djuplänka, då det inte är lika tydligt att det inte är din egen sida som du har länkat till.

Citeringsrätt

Det är tillåtet att citera "i överensstämmelse med god sed och i den uppfattning som motiveras av ändamålet". Med god sed menas t ex. att återge en del av någon annans text, oftast ett par meningar, i en debattartikel.
